Today, John Lynn, Editor and Founder of HealthcareScene asked AEGIS industry leaders, Mario Hyland & Richard Ettema to discuss their approach, strategies and success implementing truly scalable interoperable solutions in the health care arena. Prior to the interview, John held a discussion focusing on How Do We Achieve Continuous Healthcare Interoperability? Mario’s statement “Healthcare interoperability is not a point in time. You can be interoperable today and then not be tomorrow” resonated for John on multiple levels to bring AEGIS’ vision forward to his larger audience.

Highlights of this live video interview included discussion of proper testing (e.g., negative testing, exception handing, our new NLP engine, etc.) for “continuous” interoperability. The interview also focused on both opportunities and limits of the Health Level Seven (HL7) Fast Healthcare Interoperability Resources (FHIR) standard. Mario and Richard talked about the AEGIS Touchstone Project – a next generation cloud-based Testing Platform that applies Conformance and Interoperability testing in a Test-Driven-Development (TDD) integrated ecosystem.

Check out the recording of the interview! And we think Mario does have the best beard in healthcare IT!
