We issued a press release today about Gartner selecting AEGIS as a Cool Vendor in Healthcare Providers.  Check it out on PR Newswire or one of many news outlets that have picked it up. And if you wonder what it means to be a Gartner Cool Vendor, have a look here.Gartner_Cool_Vendor_2016

If you haven’t yet had a chance to read Gartner’s report, it says that, “new vendors that address interoperability, real-time data and information exchange, and virtual care capabilities have emerged in the market.”  AEGIS has a small voice in a BIG industry but our voice carries a bit more weight with our mention as a “Cool Vendor” which recognizes our role in the mission for achieving universal interoperability – a mission we have largely carried out through our own R&D efforts over the past 6+ years.

AEGIS has built a practice around comprehensive testing for compliance and conformance to healthcare industry standards to ensure interoperability.  With our unique testing skills and testing platforms we not only help achieve point-in-time interoperability, but put testing practices in place to achieve continuous industry-wide interoperability. Our testing platforms include the Developers Integration Lab  and most recently the Touchstone Project.  The Touchstone Project addresses the “hottest” new specification –  HL7’s Fast Healthcare Interoperability Resources (FHIR®) specification and provides the means to help guide FHIR implementations toward a high degree of conformance and interoperability within a continuous testing and integration model.  Touchstone has incorporated an AEGIS designed and built Natural Language Processing (NLP) engine.  This capability shifts the development of test scripts away from software programmers and places it in the hands of business analysts and clinical experts, allowing for rapid acceleration in the development of a comprehensive body of test cases. Touchstone supports a new level of sophistication and complexity within test case execution and workflow-based scenarios such as Care Coordination.

We believe that AEGIS’ inclusion in Gartner’s Cool Vendors report reinforces the message that rigorous standards-based testing is the path to ensuring interoperability success. We’d love to talk to you about your interoperability challenges and how AEGIS’ testing platforms and technical and specification subject matter experts can help you accomplish your mission.
